The Powers of Valdmar
Four powers, four truths, one crown
The Order of Ash
«Fire cleanses»
The Order was born at the ford where Saint Irma broke a lamp with a coal from Ardenna's ashes against the chest of the first of the dead. Its law is simple: fire cleanses, ash remembers. The Order burns the fallen — its own and the enemy's — so the Count cannot raise them again, cleanses the land of the Corruption and raises stone walls.
How it fights
- Steadfast infantry and the shield wall hold against any blow
- The Sisters of Ash set enemies and their buildings ablaze with burning arrows
- Templars in a wedge break the enemy line
- Burns the fallen for Faith, trades in the Market, cleanses the Corruption
Inquisitor Alaric
When he was nine, the dead came to his village on the Grey Fields, and by morning he alone was left alive — hidden by his mother in the cellar. The monks found the boy on the ashes, keeping a fire alive so the dead would not return. His armour is dark with the soot of a hundred pyres.

The Cursed Court
«Death is only the start of service»
A hundred years ago Count Valdrek read the names of sixty kings backwards in the crypt — and became lord of the dead. His Court is an eternal order: the dead do not starve, do not tire and do not betray. Every fallen enemy may rise into his ranks, and the Corruption creeps behind his armies.
How it fights
- Cheap, fearless dead — there are always more of them
- Raises the fallen right on the battlefield
- Stronger at night and on the Corruption
- Ghouls and plague catapults break any defence
Count Valdrek
The last Keeper of the Crypt, cousin to the king. His heart does not beat, but his mind is clear and his speech courteous: Valdrek gives balls in the Dead City of Elm where the long dead dance. He sincerely believes he will save Valdmar. All it needs is for everyone to die.

The Wild Clans
«The blood of the fathers never cools»
Six centuries ago King Vald drove the clans north. Now the iron ring has cracked, and nine clans united by the giant Grokh have returned. By the shamans' prophecy, the one who breaks the Crown will lead them all to the plains of their fathers.
How it fights
- Fury builds in battle and makes warriors more terrible
- Strips the fallen for trophies and strength
- Wolves and bull riders are the fastest horse in Valdmar
- Rams and berserkers break the gates
Chieftain Grokh
A horned giant, half man, half beast. His mother was a woman of the Wolf Hills clan, and his father — so the shamans say — the spirit of the hills that howls at night. He defeated eight chieftains in single combat and wears their skulls on his belt. His word is worth more than his life, but in battle he knows no mercy.

The Abyss
«Everything burns»
The Ashen Crown is not a crown but a prison. The fire the smith Vald chained six centuries ago is Azgar himself. Through the Rift in the south the Abyss breathes fire, and its legions march for the Crown to give their lord back his heart — and turn Valdmar to ash.
How it fights
- Abyssal fire sets buildings and the ground ablaze
- Demons devour the souls of the fallen and heal on the Corruption
- Maws and the Titan of the Abyss are living siege engines
- Fire imps burn the enemy from afar
Archdemon Azgar
A fire from beneath the world that took a body. His face is a mask of pale stone, his horns are set lava. When he speaks, people's lips crack. He remembers how the smith chained him into a circlet, and for six centuries he counted every night. Now half of his heart lies in the Ashen Crown.
